What is the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society?

The Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society (CSMS) was founded in 1936 by a group interested in geology and mineralogy. The renowned geological expert and mineral collector, Lazard Cahn, was voted the Society’s permanent honorary president at the first meeting. Considering that the Pike’s Peak region of Colorado is a paradise for rockhounds, geologists, and mineral collectors, their efforts in the Society were richly rewarded and the Society has thrived ever since. To learn more about the Society, how to join, when and where we meet, our field trips, and specialty groups, please visit our website at www.csms1936.com

The Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society (CSMS) has sponsored the Pikes Peak Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Show for the past 60 years (as of 2024.) The proceeds from the Show are used to fund our undergraduate scholarship program.
